Video from a 2010 Islamic Ashura festival showing the cutting and mutilation of small children.\u00a0Graphic content<\/strong>\u00a0viewer discretion advised, especially if your sensitive to blood.<\/p>\n [cvg-gallery galleryId=’15’ mode=’slideshow’ limit=’1′ \/] Some scenes are very bloody depicting the child’s entire head dripping, some scenes include these children screaming and crying, most likely shocked at the amount of blood.<\/p>\n The Day of Ashura<\/strong> (Arabic<\/a>: \u0639\u0627\u0634\u0648\u0631\u0627\u0621\u200e \u02bb\u0100sh\u016br\u0101\u2019, Ashura, Ashoura, and other spellings; Turkish<\/a>: A\u015fure G\u00fcn\u00fc) is on the 10th day of Muharram<\/a> in the Islamic calendar<\/a> and marks the climax of the Remembrance of Muharram<\/a>.<\/p>\n It is commemorated by Muslims as a day of mourning for the martyrdom<\/a> of Husayn ibn Ali<\/a>, the grandson of Muhammad<\/a> at the Battle of Karbala<\/a> on 10 Muharram<\/a> in the year 61 AH<\/a> (October 10, 680 CE).[1]<\/a> According to Sunni Muslim tradition<\/a>, Muhammad fasted on this day and asked other people to fast.[2]<\/a>[3]<\/a> Sunni Muslims<\/a> also remember the day claiming that Moses<\/a> fasted on that day to express gratitude to God for liberating the Israelites from Egypt<\/a>.<\/p>\n In some Shi’ite regions of Muslim countries such as Albania<\/a>, Afghanistan<\/a>, Iran<\/a>, Iraq<\/a>, Turkey<\/a>, Azerbaijan<\/a>, Pakistan<\/a>, Lebanon<\/a>, and Bahrain<\/a>, the Commemoration of Husayn ibn Ali<\/a> has become a national holiday and most ethnic and religious communities participate in it. Even in predominantly Hindu country like India<\/a>, Ashura (10th day in the month of Muharram<\/em>) is a public holiday<\/a>.<\/p>\n
