{"id":2647,"date":"2012-01-24T19:02:11","date_gmt":"2012-01-25T00:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/1001harf.com\/W3\/?p=2647"},"modified":"2012-01-24T19:02:11","modified_gmt":"2012-01-25T00:02:11","slug":"french-muslim-jailed-for-punching-nurse-who-removed-his-wifes-burqa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/1001harf.com\/french-muslim-jailed-for-punching-nurse-who-removed-his-wifes-burqa\/","title":{"rendered":"French Muslim Jailed for Punching Nurse Who Removed His Wife&#8217;s Burqa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"article-title\">\u00a0PARIS &#8212; A Muslim man has been jailed in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/topics\/france.htm#r_src=ramp\">France<\/a>\u00a0for punching a nurse who tried to remove his wife&#8217;s burqa during an emergency C-section.<\/p>\n<div id=\"introduction\">\n<div>\n<p>Nassim Mimoune, 24, was earlier banned from the delivery room after calling a midwife a &#8220;rapist&#8221; when she tried to perform an intimate examination on his wife in a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/topics\/soccer\/marseille-soccer.htm#r_src=ramp\">Marseille<\/a>\u00a0hospital on Monday, La Provence newspaper reported.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The pregnant woman, who had been having contractions for two days when she was admitted, begged her husband to allow the examination, but he threatened her with divorce.<\/p>\n<p>Mimoune, a construction worker from Paris, was then taken away to view the childbirth from another room, but flew into a rage when he saw the nurse removing his wife&#8217;s burqa.<\/p>\n<p>He smashed open the locked door of the operating room and punched the woman in the face, telling her to replace his wife&#8217;s Islamic veil.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested on a charge of assault while his wife delivered a healthy baby boy.<\/p>\n<p>Jailing him Wednesday for six months, the investigating judge described him as putting, &#8220;his religious dogma above the laws of the Republic and his French citizenship.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mimoune apologized in court for his actions and admitted that he had endangered his unborn child.<\/p>\n<p>He said seeing his wife&#8217;s veil lifted in front of a male health worker was like seeing her &#8220;bare-chested&#8221; in front of another man.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Source Fox<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0PARIS &#8212; A Muslim man has been jailed in\u00a0France\u00a0for punching a nurse who tried to remove his wife&#8217;s burqa during an emergency C-section.
