The Deauville festival of Asian film (7-11 March) will feature a 10-film competition and retrospectives dedicated to Japan’s Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Thailand’s Pen-ek Ratanaruang.<\/p>\n

The festival, in its 14th edition, sees its competition populated by a selection of festival favourite titles from China, Iran, Japan. It also packs an out of competition section with others Ratanaruang’s Headshot and Hirokazu Kore’eda’s I Wish.<\/p>\n

The Kurosawa retrospective includes Cure, Seance, Pulse, Bright Future and Tokyo Sonata. The Ratanaruang retrospective includes his Monrak Transistor, Invisible Waves and Ploy.<\/p>\n
