Ramin Djawadi<\/b>\u00a0(Persian<\/a>:\u00a0\u0631\u0627\u0645\u06cc\u0646 \u062c\u0648\u0627\u062f\u06cc\u200e; born July 19, 1974) is an Iranian-German\u00a0composer<\/a>\u00a0of orchestral music for film and television. Djawadi may be best known for his\u00a0Grammy<\/a>-nominated, guitar-driven score for\u00a0Iron Man<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Pacific Rim<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and for the TV series\u00a0Prison Break<\/a><\/i>,\u00a0Game of Thrones<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Person of Interest<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n

He was born in\u00a0Duisburg<\/a>,\u00a0West Germany<\/a>, to an\u00a0Iranian<\/a>\u00a0father and German mother. After graduating summa cum laude fromBerklee College of Music<\/a>\u00a0in 1998, Djawadi garnered the attention of\u00a0Hans Zimmer<\/a>, who recruited him to\u00a0Remote Control Productions<\/a>. Djawadi moved to Los Angeles and worked as an assistant to\u00a0Klaus Badelt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He then went out on his own with\u00a0Blade: Trinity<\/a><\/i>, collaborating with\u00a0The RZA<\/a>\u00a0for director\u00a0David Goyer<\/a>. This was the beginning of his relationship with Goyer for both film and television. Djawadi wrote the score for Goyer’s horror thriller\u00a0The Unborn<\/a><\/i>, which was produced by\u00a0Michael Bay<\/a>. Further collaboration with Goyer was the hit television show\u00a0FlashForward<\/a><\/i>, earning him his second\u00a0Emmy<\/a>\u00a0nomination. Djawadi also composed the Emmy-nominated main title theme music for\u00a0Prison Break<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and the title theme for the related show\u00a0Breakout Kings<\/a><\/i>. Djawadi’s ethereal score for the film\u00a0Mr. Brooks<\/a><\/i>\u00a0earned him a World Soundtrack Awards \u201cDiscovery of the Year\u201d nomination. His other scores include\u00a0Deception<\/a><\/i>, starring\u00a0Hugh Jackman<\/a>\u00a0andEwan McGregor<\/a>, and\u00a0Robert Towne<\/a>‘s\u00a0Ask the Dust<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n

Djawadi scored the first Sony Animation project,\u00a0Open Season<\/a><\/i>, followed by the sequel\u00a0Open Season 2<\/a><\/i>. Additional animation scores include\u00a0The Chubbchubbs Save Xmas<\/i>. Djawadi’s work in these films attracted the filmmakers of the Belgium-based NWave, who created one of the first animated movies in 3D,\u00a0Fly Me to the Moon<\/a><\/i>. Djawadi completed Warner Brothers’\u00a0Clash of the Titans<\/a><\/i>\u00a0in 2010. Djawadi also scored the soundtrack for the 2010 video game\u00a0Medal of Honor<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and currently the HBO’s fantasy drama\u00a0Game of Thrones<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and the CBS’s crime drama\u00a0Person of Interest<\/a><\/i>.[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0He will also score the FX’s vampire drama\u00a0The Strain<\/a><\/i>. The show is created by\u00a0Pacific Rim<\/i>\u00a0director\u00a0Guillermo Del Toro<\/a>.<\/p>\n
